Students strengthen these connections through weekly community outreach and community-building programs. Through these service learning programs, our students gain first-hand understanding of how certain social issues can impact members of our community differently, and see how getting involved in their community can make a positive impact.

Our goal is to help students appreciate the value of giving because they want to, not because they have to. While all students in Ontario must complete at least 40 hours of service to graduate from high school, many Greenwood students proudly claim hours far beyond that minimum. Though participation in the service learning program is only required in Grades 7 and 8, the majority of students carry on their involvement throughout high school.
